I have been lurking on this forum for a while now and decided to post. I have grown indoors in soil in the past but just recently tried my hand with one outdoors. This is strictly for personal use. I germinated the seed and planted it in soil, nothing special. It was basically a seed from some bag at some point so I dont even know what it is. I would like to grow good stuff for myself but I am afraid of getting pinched for buying seeds online. I am in NY in the USA and am not sure what could happen if I purchased seeds online. Anyone from NY have any input? I am not even sure which strain would do well here or when to plant and harvest. I am basically a noob to outdoor growth. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! I'm pretty sure ordering seeds online is safe, as long as you get a money order and send it there. There's always the risk of getting beat for the money, but if you use a reputable seed site and do things right, you greatly reduce the risk of getting caught. I read something that said use a money order, get a PO box and have them delivered there (never to where your growing), etc. Just be safe about it.

As far as strains are concerned, whichever site you choose to buy from should give you a description (indoors/outdoors/both, how long they take, etc). Just do your research and you should be able to find something to suit you. Hope this helps... Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the info. I am going to set up a PO box and use either a prepaid credit card or a money order. I am only looking to grow 1 or 2 plants per year just for my consumption, so as I have read elsewhere on here...I doubt anyone would bother with me. I am going to get some and give it a try next season.
