the attitude and credit cards
|
|
All right guys, i am a rookie at the whole ordering online thing. I just ordered 5 femanized seeds from the attitude seed bank using my credit card. i guess i just got a little careless and excited and just ordered them. they are not being shipped to where i am going to be growing.
Any thoughts?

i think youll be fine. Johnny law dont care about a few seeds. If you ordered 500,000 seeds however, i would worry.

Since the computer server holding the information regarding your credit card order is in the UK, "johnny law" would need to get court approval from the British legal system to even search through the records on this foreign server. And then, I doubt your 5 seeds would rank high on their "to do" list. They could access the server illegally by hacking it, sure, but none of it could be used in court here. Our government needs to jump through alot of hoops to get the random personal info and credid-card transactions data stored on a secure foreign server. You are totally ok dude. Just watch your card statement, some british hacker could potentially try and use your card to make some online purchases if he were pretty good. That is the only REAL danger from doing what ya did, and it's unlikely that will happen. You will probably be ok!

thanks a lot guys, that def eases my mind. i was kind of thinking the same thing because they are in the uk i should be alright. it just kind of spooked me because 15 minutes after i ordered i got a calll from the credit card company saying if i approved a certain charge to HES trading. i just did not want them to share that little piece of info with anyone, even though when googled, the website just shows clothes and remote control cars and shit like that.
will keep you posted on the order though.

Yeah, The Attitude, I think, is Hess Trading (or at least pretends to be or something), and if anyone dug deeper the charge would probably be for a "T-Shirt." Mountain is right, if you use a prepaid card, then even the Hackers can't do anything. Also, the ONLY reason you got a call was because it was a charge from over-seas. It was just your card's fraud protection, most good companies will call at least the first time. They called the first time I ever ordered, but they have never called on any other orders. I guess once they know you like to buy T Shirts and CD Promo's (like I'm some record company, lol) from Europe, they let you do it. But even in the event of the worst possible thing happening, getting hacked and having someone over there use your card, you will probably still be protected. I have heard of this "horror story" happening to several people, where a seed-bank or distributor was hacked and stolen cards were used by ID theives. In all cases I heard about, everyone had every cent returned by their creditors. I guess it depends on how good your fraud protection is though. I talked with mine and was assured that anything I said I didn't order would be refunded. I guess it's alot easier for creditors to get at that info and see the shipping address than it is for the government, lol. out!

I thin this is the main thing. They dont have nearly enough time or money to meess with everyones seeds. But i would say be careful if you order alot.

I wouldn't worry, although they also accept money orders if you want to keep your cc out of it.
