i want to set up a closet hydro grow room i was wondering what strain i want to use, im pretty new to growing in general

How tall is your closet? If its a standard size, then you really shouldn't have any height issues and would not need to pick a strain that specifically was short in height. You could try something like Northern lights or White widow for your first grow. They are both relatively easy to grow. I would definitely look in the GROWFAQ for some basics on how to grow before you start. There is a lot of useful info in there, and it always helps to make a grow journal when you start so people can help you out. I also recommend looking up widow maker's thread on how to grow marijuana. That was very helpful for me when I first started. (go to members list link and search for him) Good luck.

aight thanks sounds good, this is my second grow my first went wrong cause i poisoned then with too much food, sodium build up. but for the closet, its divided in half with a built in shelf mid way up it

so each section is like 4' tall right so subtract 1' for pots and 1' for light and your right you do need some small plants. How about some auto plants, Low Ryder 2 maybe, I have heard great things about auto ak47 how about that?

And if you do go with the autosyou could harvest every month or so with the 2 compartments, no mother plants and no messing with cloning. Thats the route i'm heading for now. But if you do go with and auto variety be sure to do a seed run first time through, that is allow the males to pollinate the female buds for more seeds, that way you only have to buy em once.

Oh, yeah if you have your closet split that way then you are working with limited room. Low Ryder is probably a good call or something pretty short. Good luck and start at 1/4 nute strength this time.

Yea, good luck getting those lowryder seeds though. I can't get no auto flowering seeds through customs. Coincidence???

Well not all lowryder seeds come through customs,many a RIU member has done a seed run and has more then they could ever use, It's against the rules but thats how i got mine. Good luck

aight sounds good ill try to pick up some lowryders then, side question though. my first run was in dirt and this time around in thinking about hydro do i get seedlings from dirt first and then put them into a hydro system or do i need to clone to use hydro

Yeah, but then you run into the whole trust issue (on both sides of it). I almost got "inspired" enough to try this method on another forum that I have been a member of longer, but nobody really knows me anywhere and that is the way that I like it. That doesn't help me end my predicatement right now though.

I was actually breeding my own stock of lowryder mixes (including bubble-low and grapefruit-low which I still haven't seen anything stable by anybody yet (it seemed very hard to hold on to the desirable qualities of the originals mixed with lowryder #1) ) back in 05 but due to some serious security issues I had to scrap everything out and have been sticking to purely legal gardening (how stupid of a statement is that?) ever since. Partially because I don't want anyone to know what I'm doing and partially because I can't seem to get the seedbanks to come through for me it is now mid-June and I am still bean-less for the season.

I can get pretty angry at the world when I think of all the people who want to persecute and prosecute us over growing beautiful plants that provide beautiful medicine. Society's chemicals are overrated and sickening and the whole "war on drugs" makes no sense to me.

I realize I got on a rant there, but that's how it goes sometimes -- running short on good vibes lately.
