I'm 18 from Ohio, I really don't know what I want to do for a living, nuthing interests me and I can;t imagine a career i could be happy with for the rest of my life.

But weed I love it, I smoke it everyday(i have ADHD and beleive it or not it makes me smarter and a better person in general.
My love for weed soon lead me to growing, growing opened a new world to me i love it. Realizing my passion for the plant i thought "this is what i want to do for a living, Grow the best weed in America and sell it to the government, For medical purposes.

I wanted to know if any one knows if there is any legitiment job fields in growing or research. and what should i go to college for if i want to learn how to really grow some amazing plants, like gene splicing, or like graphing a clone to a tree and making a weed tree.

hell yeah man, i spent a couple months in NOHO and Burbank. i loved the weed, my buddies out there all have med cards. we was smokin mad weed.

man, honestly its not as great as U may think it is.

just like U, there are so many ppl that love the plant, and are already making new break-thru's with the genes, breeding and growing. that field is past its peak and on its way to a decline. in 10 yrs I estimate there will be over 2500 different strains. there will be little, if any, future in that.

In the near future the government will make it legal. They'll already have the best medicinal growers, breeders and pharmacy's. If anything U will have to be in competition with the government, having better prices without the taxes, having a higher 'cloudy' trichome content instead of the typical 'amber' trichomes that the medicinal stuff has, making your herb a more social herb..this stuff will be legally available like it is over in amsterdam. and U better believe the government will be taking advantage of it to the fullest.

the only money making market for this stuff will be in the sales, marketing, and distribution. taking classes in marketing will make U more of a people person, and learn how to be a boss. U already know what the initial investment will be, how to set it up , how to get the best, and get it growing. the only thing left is to get it out there by word of mouth, advertisement, entertainment, by hook or by crook.

if u wanna push health, be a doctor. if u wanna push law, be a lawyer. if u wanna make a change, be the president.

but if ur anything like me and want to have a legacy that will be around forever then u need to create an establishment that will be around forever, learn how to take ur name and spread it around the world. then the world will be yours and everything in it.

man I had a revelation, just like U, a cpl yrs ago, but only I was missing the bigger picture.. I had the exact same thought pattern, "I wanna do something I love and enjoy doing the rest of my life."

but U should want to do something to IMPROVE the quality of your life, and be happy while ur doing it.

one day im gonna have a family, beautiful wife and kids, big house, large land, steady and secure income. so I couldnt devote my life to doing research, or working long hours in a shop, factory, behind a desk, in the field, or away from home.

right now Im an elecrtical technician/ test engineer for mitsubishi electric. I build grow cabinets in my spare time at home. Im constantly updating my design to make all of my conditions the perfect growing environment. Im also cross-breeding a few different plants inside the cabinet, so when I have everything where its needs to be I'll have a kick ass strain and a kick ass cabinet.

When the time is right I could unveil my grow cabinet and my strain to the world, and get rich off it, but the only problem is that there are already so many kickass grow boxes and strains out there. the market is flooded with the same thing. I can only try to make it better.

Im taking classes in business and marketing, it gives me the edge that other people in this field doesnt have. it teaches me how to 'get people to like me more'..that can be a huge impact on ppl. if they 'like me more' than they like someone else, they'll come back to me forever. so its a win-win.

my point is this, keep ur dreams in mind when u plan for the future and u will always find way to be happy.

triggerman, I'm with you, I'm going to make a career out of growing, I'm going to build an industrial pot empire, or die trying. might take me another 5 or 10 years but I'm just as young as you, so once I have my shit set up, I'm gonna get a family going. and because of my empire, my family won't have to worry about anything for generations to come. I'd be happy to employ any dedicated pot smokers, even if your a dumb-ass, I'll need taste-testers.

at least I gave him real advice on how to use the market, economy, and government to his advantage. Im trying to put him on the right road by telling him to go to school and get an education, learn multiple skills and see where he can apply them.
