Registered Mail

So I sent away for a small order of WW seeds from BCseedking.

I sent straight cash and wanted to make sure I had proof of delivery so I sent the envelope via US registered mail. Im worried now that I made a mistake doing so. The order was sent on 4/14 and still no delivery confirmation after signing up to be alerted via email and via the paper slip that comes back. I guess my questions are as follows:

How long would a registered parcel take from Eastern US to BC Canada? The clerk told me registering it would slow it down but a full two weeks?
Im wondering if registered mail receives a little bit more scrutiny from the government, perhaps? I didnt use the grow address, of course, but I'm concerned that I upped the chances of a customs interception when the order comes back through.

I suspect Im just lacking in the patience department and suffering from excess paranoia but if anybody knows anything at all about the USPS and registered mail specifically please post it here.

honestly i wouldn't be worried, but i'd go in the post office and check with them on it registered(if i remember right) they can usually give you an idea of where it is, might be a location or 2 behind but they should be able to give you an idea.

I don't know for sure - but some seed companies do recommend sending payments using regular post - registered, certified, etc.. exposes it to more scrutiny.

Presicely what I was afraid of. The thought dropped in my mind the second I walked out of the PO, like 'damn did I really just send that registered?'

Gaffes like that can cost a person.

We'll see. Anyone else?

have you contacted the seed bank to see if they received the payment?

if you look around you may find seed banks recommending sending via registered mail - possession is the illegal part anyway.

Well I followed up with the post office. The parcel arrived abroad and went into canadian customs on Apr 23.

I guess its going like it should, just a little slow. Enough to raise my brow. Probably a non-issue in the long run. Thanks for keeping up with me, email.
