Por favor?
So, I have this clone that one of my patients got locally under the auspices of being Pineapple Express. Oddly enough, this may have actually been trustworthy, which is almost weird for a dispensary here. Anyways, it has both fantastic resin production and a very strong and definite pineapple scent, and has only just finished its fourth week of 12/12. Anyways, I have been trying to find out the parent genetics of this plant, because it seems to definitely be a keeper, and I'd like to know more about it. Unfortunately, all I can find is conflicting information. G13 labs seem to be rather tight lipped about the genetics of their strain, and I'm not really sure that is what I'm dealing with, anyways. To me, it looks more like the pics I can find of Flying Dutchmen's Pineapple Punch, although it is a bit difficult to tell this early on. Here is a pic of it at the end of the first full week. From it's growth pattern and leaf shape, I would have to guess that it is at least a 60/40 sativa/indica. When flowered at a height of around 2', it stretched to around 3'6" so far. I would like to get any opinions on the matter.

Well, for one thing the pic that G13 Labs uses isn't even of PE. It was stolen from Raco, and is a pic of his Spanish Blaze. Take a look: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=159889
I'm guessing it might be two C99 Pineapple phenos crossed. Who knows. Does G13 labs even know?
I have a note from my Doctor
Trying to judge a hybrid plant based off the way it looks is near impossible.
It is possible to have a Pineapple tasting/smelling phenotype of a strain thats not even "Pineapple", like Cinderella 99.
Back in the day when Pineapple Express made its first appearance, I remember hearing it being toted as the product of a Hawaiian sativa and a special fruity phenotype of a skunk, but I also know of some breeders now days who cross Cinderella 99 with Pineapple Punch and called that Pineapple Express.
Its hard to say what strain you actually have, but If you got it from a dispensary, Id bet its either Pinapple Chunk from Barneys Farm, Pineapple Express from G13, or Pineapple Punch from Flying Dutchmen. Your growing environment will play a huge roll in how your plant looks too, so keep that in mind.
I only speak Peggy Hill spanish.
And as far as the rest goes, I would say that since this plant definitely has more sativa characteristics than indica, it is not likely to be Pineapple Chunk, which I am pretty sure has mostly indica genetics. I would wager that it is developed from the Pineapple pheno of c99, just because of the rate at which it is growing, the bud structure, and the volume of resin production. It's not particularly important, but I am definitely going to use this as a mother, I already have a couple to choose from, so it would be kind of nice to know what to call it, but I guess I can just pull a cropicanna and call it 'pineapple'. This is all exactly why I stopped getting shit from dispensaries, as nearly every clone I have gotten has turned out to be something else. The girl I got with my pineapple was supposed to be TH seeds "the Hog", but now that its in flowering it is very clearly a long-flowering tropical sativa, which I am all kinds of pissed about. Not that there's anything wrong with tropical sativas, but that was supposed to be my indica, and I already have a room full of good sativas and sativa-doms.

ive always heard p/e is supposed to be a maui-wowie & trainwreck cross
I'm a caregiver, I have PE in my garden as does a friend that's also a caregiver. PE is very popular with both our patients.
Both of us selected very similar phenos as our keepers.
Tastes and smells like lemon/pineapple/skunk. Gets pretty good trich coverage. Stems are real thin, have to stake and tie or they collapse. Yield is good. Can't speak for the genetics all I know is that it holds its own agaist every strain I've run over the last year.
Good buzz, good yield, great taste.
Honestly I was surprised by the quality, I wasn't expecting them to be so good.

This is what I'd heard, and probably what I have heard the most frequently, but I have also heard that it is also just the pineapple pheno of c99, and a couple other different things.
did you get them from G13?
I can relate to the surprise. When the patient who got it told me they got 'pineapple express' I just wanted to be like "see, this is why I told you to run what clones you want me to grow by me first." I expected it to be crap, trying to cash in on some hype from a fictional movie; instead, while I am not 100% sure what I have, it is both very pineapple-y and pleasing to the eye.

Ya it's from G13.
My keeper is 60/40 Sativa, finishes in about 9 weeks. Love it

i wouldn't think it was a C99 as a year or two ago i smoked SOME kind of pineapple that was OK, and closer to a skunk #1 than C99 and higher in odor. then again, i've only smoked joey weeds' fruity haze pheno cinderella
Jack's Cleaner 2, Sweet Haze, Haze x Skunk & 8 Miles High are all much fun, but fluffy, fuzzy 1985 Columbian Gold popcorn's that trippy! Thai? Malawi Gold? Mekong Haze (Cambodian)? Don't know.
