Hey RIU.
im starting another round of plants from seed. a few of them are nirvana genetics as usual, as they are my fav breeder:eyesmoke:(just getting some chrystal cured, best strain ive had period from any breeder ever!). i bought some medusa female seeds to try as i noticed it is hard as hell to find people who have grown it. now... i have one seedling of it which is about 3 weeks old now. and its only about 3 inches tall and keeps growing slowly and seems stunted from nute burn or something. i have a nirvana new york power diesel, a nirvana white rhino, a G13 Labs pineapple express, and 2 apothecary grape apes(seeds were in a batch of med bud, clone only strain.) as well with the same setup and same dirt/nutes, which is FFOF. the NYPD had a bit of issue with nute burn at first too but it never got stunted as bad as the medusa and now is biggest plant so far. the medusa is the most pathetic, and i cant seem to keep it happy. it has shallow roots it seems, i have to water it constantly or it droops... and it is very slow to grow at all. none of the other plants are doing this. they are all healthy and are nute burn free... why the hell is this happening? you all think maybe i just have an un-lucky medusa seed? im tempted to find out how often this happens with this strain and maybe others. can anyone help?

probably just a bad plant, most of my nirvana strains were prone to overwatering and so i used to keep them on an every other day, im running some blue mystic and they dont get very bushy AT ALL even if you top/fim them every time they show new growth LOL, so take the nirvana descriptions with a grain of salt. some times if a seedling gets nute lockout it will stay stunted for a long time, it happened to a few of my seedlings by accident and i fixed it by putting them outside and flushing them. the air quality indoors can be stressful to some plants without good airflow so there are 99 problems, and you just gotta find it out.

i feel yah... i knew medusa prolly wasnt the easiest grow when i got it. its just so rare that i wanted to try it. i have good luck with nirvana so far tho bro, this is my first problem ever. im very satisfied with a number of their strains, and other companies too dont get me wrong!

i wanted to try Medusa and Venus flytrap but the descriptions made it seem like Nirvana doesn't have a whole lot of variation with the strains they put out. I just ordered 20 Chrystal and 20 Bubblelicious regs, ive grown their Bubblicious over a year ago and it was easiest grow i had till that point and gave me the best results too with yield, i hope it doesn't disappoint me like the Aurora Indica's i ordered again(who also did well in their first grow, alongside the Bubble), for some reason the quality of plants from nirvana really differ ALOT from one batch of seeds to the next. some are amazing and others are simply worth the price you pay.

o wow thats shitty, ive been lucky so far except medusa. venus flytrap is pure power plant x top44. kinda like wonder woman is Ice x top44. the "skunk" is in the top44. they are just both close internode, higher resin content strains mixed with top44 for added commercial appeal. i have to admit wonder woman is nice tasting, maybe venus is too. ive been wanting to try it also, the venus i mean. wonder woman is one of the most common street strains in this area actually. along with larry og and juicy fruit to name a couple more. bubbelicious sounds unpredictable to me, thats why i didnt get it. i considered it. but went with medusa and white rhino for that hard stone im hoping for.

the medusa grew out another set of leaves over the past few days right, gave me some hope. well.... those damn leaves started to get big and then once they got the size of a silver dollar they started to look all burnt and cripple up at the tips real bad. its nute locked or something. im about to give up on it. my pineapple express and white rhino are bigger than medusa and they are about 2.5 weeks younger... in fact they're only about a week old and still they are bigger than medusa... thats bullshit. medusa is officially the hardest to grow strain ive came across at this point. i recommend chrystal or white castle over medusa. both are very resin coated and tasty, and no where near as difficult as the medusa seems to be. blackberry is good to me too, just hard to keep the branches from falling over cuz they are way too heavy for the strength of the branch. plus its at least gonna be a 12 week flowering strain. too long for me, and thats with an indica looking blackberry plant.

seems i get about a 4 out of 5 success from nirvana fem seeds...doing medusa, dwc, recurculating, top water every 3 days lightly at first, 1/4 nutes....moderate grow skill, in 2nd week flower, beauty s...

yeah medusa seems to be an issue with them... i had let them know what had happened tho, and they quickly sent me a brand new pack of medusa. the top review on the nirvana website for medusa is mine. i think its a couple years old now.

u have to get the right phenotype and keep it with this strain. some of the phenotypes are difficult and unpleasant.

i have a medusa right now in flower. It was fairly indica, but it stretched way too tall in flower, and its resin has almost no smell at all. not a very good pheno.

ive also had a couple seeds produce mutant seedlings too... some polyploids and such. its not a perfected strain. id look at it like bubba or something. dont expect much yield, and your gonna have to do some selection to get the plant u want probably. happens with a lot of strains... not all tho.

EDIT:
just grew some medusa and i put it thru hell as a noob grower grew it under cfl's too did beautifully they do take alot of water though your right and will droop quick if not watered enough
yup they do need constant water. weird for a typically indica heavy strain.

I too have a medusa fem from nirvana going. Mine seemed to take off from jump. Germed in a day and broke soil in a day. Took just over month to show pre sex. Just started week 7 of veg. And yes does need a lot of water. About a gallon every 3 days and is a heavy feeder. (in 3 gallon pot) About 2 1/2 - 3 feet tall.
