I had an absessed tooth last night, and a root canal today. I thought after the root canal, i would be good, but now that the numbing stuff wore off, i am in horrible throbbing shooting pain. They gave me vicoden, still in pain. Will a nice indica or hybrid help matters?

anybody have experience with weed helping bad tooth pain?

cool, thanks, i am just concerned that it will increase the blood flow in the area making it throb more.

nothing will help with a tooth infection except antibiotics. I'm assuming you have some and if you take them as directed you should have a huge decrease in pain after 2 days of starting them.

look up home remedies for it. like vanilla, there are all sorts of things that help with tooth pain. I think if I had a bad one, i would put the bowl to the test.

I found Vicodin is never enough for tooth pain resulting from infection. However it is okay to take some naproxen in conjunction with the vics. Normally you take two naproxen every 12 hours and Vicodin as needed. I find with the naproxen the vicodin lasts 3-5 hours.

Best thing to do is try to sleep while the antibiotics do their work, something a strong indica can help with. As for increasing blood flow, that is a good thing; the antibiotics are in your blood.

Try an ice pack. In some cases it quiets the pain and gives you a window of relief. I find this sometime works great and other times does nothing.
