hello all....im in a really good mood right now...not only am i buzzing a lil.. i just found that my beans have arrived from a very reliable seed bank. i am a lil worried though cuz 4 out of 5 are very small. this will be my first grow, so im wondering if small seeds have trouble cracking? and if anyone has a kick ass way to get them going...im always open for suggestions

Boooh man. I have found that any small seeds I usually have are immature or just bad seeds and I have had trouble germing them. I grabbed a few bag seeds like this, never opened. My Flash however are nice fat and brown with great tiger stripes. Those always crack in 36 hours or less, awesome seeds.

If you think think they are going to have problems germing, scuff or file the seem of the seed a little before you germ, bu i too have had problems with germing small seed. Were did you get your seed???

You can crack them yourself after they've been germinating for 30 hours or so, use a pair of tweezers to squeeze it. You'll want to squeeze along the split in the seed not on the smooth sides. You'll here it crack but don't squeeze to hard or you'll crush the little gal. After that it may germinate it may not but I did it yesterday and today I put the sprout in the dirt so it worked for me.

My paradise seeds were very small but they germed fine. 4 out of 4 germed

my nirvana seeds were nice and big...they germed perfectly as well 4 out of 4 germed as well

it has been my experience that the bigger the seed the stronger the seed.
