Subcools' Vortex

Has anyone out there grown Subcool's Vortex? I've got four plants at one week old from getting the seeds wet. They seem healthy and vigorous, which I'm pleased about, but I sure could use some answers from those that have grown it. Specifically, how much stretch, nute tolerance, did you top it and when, did you thin the lower branches, etc. Basically, how did the grow go?

Right now 3 of 4 are busy pushing out their first real leaves with one no show. I'm growing them in a bubbleponics setup under 200W of T5s for veg. They'll be going under 250W mh & 400W HPS when they go 12/12. Nutes are Botanicare Pro w/liquid Karma for Veg and Flower.

did you buy a 5 pack and 4 germed?

vortex looks great. i got qwerkle going now.

no advise tho sorry.

I bought a 10 pack and planted 4. Out of the 4 planted, 3 are up and looking good. The one that hasn't popped up either was too deep in the rockwool or a dud. The seeds have been sitting tightly sealed in a dark drawer at 60 degrees for about 6 monhs, so that might have had some impact on germination. I'll give it a few more days before giving up on it.

EDIT: I noticed this morning that seed number 4 has definately germinated and is struggling to get out of the rockwool. Probably buried too deep.

Hey Quiet whats up. I've grown out Vortex and still am for a little while longer. Quite a bit of info on a few of Subcools strains in my journal...I'll post a link. Catch ya later if you would like more info. Good luck bro

ive grown this from seed, it smells a little grapefruity and grows on the stringy side. i also run jilly bean, qleaner, and jack the ripper. if i had choose one jack the ripper would slightly edge out jillybean.

Do you remember if the Vortex stretched alot, and did you top it? What do you like about JTR & Jillybean over Vortex? I've never tried any of Subcool's gear so don't worry about offending me.

Great journal HC. Pretty much answered all my questions. Definately +rep. Now I know what to plan for on nutes and phenos.

yep almost any info you need on TGA strains are in organics under subcools thread. the best info on RIU in my opinion can be found there. with strain growing guides on all of subcools strains

Thanks Max, yes, I found the links from HC's journal. It's amazing how you can be on this board for over a year and still not know even a significant fraction of what's there. I love the Internet!
