Greetings friends. I got some afgooey seeds from a friend and I have been reading everything that I can find (Google) about this strain and....well, there isn't a lot of info that I have been able to find. I know that its 70% Maui Haze to 30% Afghan #1. i am downloading Ed R. Big Book of Buds #1 because rumor has the book has some info. I was hoping that in addition you guys could let me know what you know about the strain. I have 40 that I am about to throw into flower and I am wondering about the strech or any other characteristics. Thanks.

The smoke can be harsh compared to most. It is kinda leafier than most but has a high thc throughout the plant. Very good for hash or food making out of the trim. This plant was made for heat...Look at the fan leaves one month into veg.

One of the loveliest plants to grow in terms of pure aesthetics. She is by far one of my faves.

From my grow logs, here are some things I recorded:

Veg (from clone):
1) Definitely a Indica dominant and does not grow very tall, stays thick and bushy with strong stem development.
2) Dark green leaves in the foliage with massive fan leaves while vegging.
3) Strong nitrogen rich nutrient feeding was accepted with no noticeable nutrient burn or leaf discoloration (veg)
4) Minor powedery mildew noticed on lower foilage - applied Serenade (likely due to high RH).

Bloom
1) Used one last high Nitrogen feeding regiment for first week of flowering
2) First couple of weeks of flowering added about 40% additional height
3) Bud development noticed after 3 weeks
4) Plant is able to handle moderate to strong bloom nutirent regimen, no noticeable leaf discoloration.
5) Trichome development noted about 4 weeks into cycle
6) Fan leaves began to turn yellow (plant entering last stages of it reproductive cycle) 6 weeks into flowering.
7) Massive trichome development and bud enlargement at weeks 6-8. Switched over to flushing regiment at week 7.
8) Bud maturity at 8-9 weeks.

Notes:
ph on soil - 6.8
RH - 40%
Light Cycle (bloom) 12/12 - 1000w HPS
Air: strong air flow, recirculating with moderate exhaust
Temp: 85F (light) and 69F (dark)
Nutrients: Organic mix (Earthjuice)
Soil: 3 part organix mix with 1:4 perelite

And for the pics (week 6 into flowering)

Good luck!

The afgooey I got today doesn't have much bag appeal but it's tastesy and smokes nice, it all ends up ash anyway :bigjoint:

I got 2 afgoo cuts from harborside. I got to take a look at the weed before I bought them and it looked killer. Nice bag appeal, covered in resin. Havnt smoked it though. 9 week flowering???

if anyone cares im growing afgooey right now and will continue to grow it till the day i die, or lose my med card. afgooey is 60 % indica and 40% sativa, same as the famed white widow. i got both and the goo is the best. NOTHING TOUCHES AFGOOEY IN TERMS OF FROSTYIST OR BEST TAST OR HEAVY STONE. its my most popular and desired strains.

Absolutely killer end product. It is very leafy, even trimmed, with smaller sinsemilla than most buds, although I do not notice much in the way of a chlorophyll type affect/taste even with the high concentration of leafy material. I literally can sculpt it like a shrub and it retains it's amazing potent trichomes throughout. The "trim" is just as potent as what is being trimmed, so very nice for making hash. Very sticky, and super potent with a spicy, almost pine like after taste. I think the reduction in nitrogen rich nutrients early on in flowering is essential given its leafy nature and how much chlorophyll she retains even late into flowering.

I'll admit I am a lightweight and do not partake much in the sampling of my own wares, but all my fellow patient friends seem to really enjoy this strain and ask for it by name when they know I have just harvested.

I have six afgoo plants in flower right now. They are huge, full of trichs, and look amazing. Im pretty sure the goo is clone only. And it is probably the best yielder out of all strains. This is definitely a keeper, depending on how good you are ar growing it, and what nutrients you are using....

i've done afgoos the past two years - they looked just like those photos.. the main thing that stands out for me is the grape taste.. fruity - for sure grapelike.. :)
i consider it to be strong.. some of the strongest i have encountered, but i don't have tons of experience with good strains..
