Default In defense of lowryder2
and other auto flowering strains as taken from my recent post in other forum, opinions greatly appreciated.
"this strain and others like it make it possible for the occasional smoker to grow thier own decent quality bud without having to have an larger more conspicouis operation. I can grow 3-4 lr2 plants at a time in gallon pots and have smoke in less than 9 weeks total, they do require 24 hour light (I use a 200 watt cfl with hood), for the first month, but once budding happens its good to switch to 12/12 hps, very little odor, not to much electricity, and in 2 months I got over a quarter pound of personal use buds, which my friends say is as good as some hydro out there. If I could set up a larger grow room and not worry about my kids or thier friends getting into it, I would, but this variety fits my needs perfectly, stealthy as hell, quick turnover, and the weed is definitly not shwag, taste decent when grown properly. this variety might not be for everyone, but not everyone has the need to grow a pound of weed either. I think these varieties will only improve as breeders are getting the rudialis portion of them out of the plants, example lowryderXskunk cross, only 25 percent autoflowering but thc 15-20% which is pretty high, I am sure with more breeding this and others out there will become stable(autoflowering) varieties and have a place in the bud world." this my lr2 at week 10 and still budding, looks really nice, best one I have grown out of the 10 or so plants in the past, the switch to hps on 12/12 did the trick, and slowed the process produing better buds.

Nice lookin plants!

I think the auto flowering species will find a niche with small time personal use growers, like myself. It will also pass for very good buds (45 an 1/8th would be probably very reasonable) in many spots in the u.s. I'm from texas so anything above dirt is good down here.

To each their own...Lowryder seems to fit the poster's needs. Bottom line if it works for you...Fuck what anyone else thinks.

If I had no seeds and came by some LR2's.....guess what I'd be growing? I damned sure wouldnt turn my nose up at it. As a matter of fact...Im sure somewhere down the line I'll give this strain a test run myself.

lol fyi that is one plant not nice plants, I will be getting about an ounce of buds off this one plant using my nutes and lighting method, they are very tight and lime green with many red hairs. And to find cheap seeds, gl your best bet is to do a small indoor grow with 5 plants and you should have at least one male and let it germ with one of the females and then get rid of it, you should end up with about 100-200 seeds depending on the size of the plant, I am sitting on 150 from my last grow, and should be set with these seeds for quite some time.

if I had somewhere to plant outside, I would go with a strain like early misty as it is more potent and grows quickly and relativly short, I am forced to grow in a small closet corner so this small variety fits my needs. All the lr2 that I have seen outdoor look very stretched with smaller buds, to me this is more an indoor strain which strives under cfl's and finishes hard with hps's.

Ive just set some LR2's off 2day , got them from seedsman , £31 delivered.(10seeds).

Why do so many people not like the Lowryder strain ?
Its perfect for personal, from seed to bud in 9weeks , apparently anyway , we'll see how these little shits turn out !!

Well as for the 9 wk, you could do a clone setup and get buds in about the same time from a "normal" plant (and that's not even talking about bushmaster which can take 2 weeks off flowering). BUT then you need timers, light proofing, mothering chamber, blah blah.

Seems to me the real benefit to this plant is the ease of growing. No need to be an expert in cannabis knowledge/have hundreds to spend/have a large area to grow in. Summary: bringin weed growin to your average stoner!
