Hey Hepcats, I thought we'd turn the temperature down and talk about one of the forum's favorite breeders. I've read about this guy over and over, read his article on the CC which changed my view on that fiasco forever, and have not read enough reviews on his strains.

I'm looking at Jack the Ripper for the sativa potency, or F13 by DJ Short for my next purchase, has anyone grown either?

What strains have you tried and what would you recommend - from either personal trial or word of mouth.

I've summarized most of Subcools seedbank listed strains below, I'll add more if I find them. Please add any strain that you know about that I'm missing.

The mother plant Jacks Cleaner F1 has obtained urban legend status due to it's hard to get nature and folk tales of lethal potency leaving men dazed. Jacks Cleaner P1 X Space Queen

A true 8 week Sativa Haze the first thing growers notice is the incredible lemon smell and heavy resin production. It has been described by UK growers as the best 8 week haze ever produced.

This plant will produce triangle shaped spear buds that pretty much stopped active calyx growth early and produced copious amounts of resin instead, resin production was evident from day 12 in 12/12 but really started to fatten up the heads around day 50 or so.

I find it performs best untopped with a long vegetive period. The high is very creeper at first you may think that its not so strong but then whammo...it hits you hard and there's no turning back then...you will be deep in thought and meditative for quite some time...the duration and intensity is strong and thought provoking.

Phenotypes: Two main phenotypes both with a Lemon Haze smell and short growth one tends to be more a pine smell.

Height: Look for the Short Pheno/ Colas swell late

Yield-Medium: Heavy / Moderate trim work

Best way to grow: Untopped and vegged to a full bush.

You dont really have to be a master breeder to figure out orange and pineapple mango flavour traits will be a good combination. The resulting outcross is remarkably stable and is close to a 50/50 representation of the parents. Topped it grows into a nice short bush with lots of side Branching and multi heads. Flavours range from orange, Tang,candy ,Mango,and apple. The cross works really well in SOG Or Scrog . Very Large stems and huge top colas make this an easy strain to grow in any medium.

i want to see you try his Chernobyl, that looks amazing. or try the Qleaner. most of his strains look the bomb. if i werent buying from elite i would probably get his, and when i get more money im gonna buy his seeds to store incase he goes out of business or something.

I'll get both eventually but which would you pick to grow next?

Jack The Ripper - seems amazing except for the heavy crash and parranoia. Does anyone know how extreme or common these effects are?

F-13 is a top quality connoisseur variety developed with the indoor soil grower in mind. Even so, it adapts well to hydroponic systems, performing especially well in organic-based aquaponic or aeroponic setups. It has also been tested in outdoor gardens at 45 degrees north lattitude, where it performed well.

The parents of F-13 are a dynamic duo from DJ Short's Delta-9 Blue Collection. The mother strain, Flo, is an early maturing sativa/indica hybrid with the unique ability to produce a continuous harvest of tight spear-shaped buds. Her buzz is energetic and extremely clearheaded, a true "wake and bake" pot with a flowery smell and fruity undertones in the flavor. The Blueberry father is a superstar of connoisseur cannabis known for its cool blue hues and signature blueberry taste, along with its long lasting, euphoric high.

In F-13, this combination results in a slightly sativa-dominant hybrid that branches into a medium-sized, bushy plant, especially when topped. Her thin, sativa-like leaves are dark green, often developing red and lavender hues as she matures. F-13 thrives on organic nutrients with plenty of good worm castings and bat guano. i would grow jack the ripper because i like how the shape of the buds supposedly grow like spears. also it says it has a very deep thought high which would be nice. also i hear alot more people going with F13 so i would like to see a jack the ripper grow for a change. plus cause right now im low on money jack the ripper is cheaper. 10 seeds for 75 bucks and for f13 its 165 for 10 seeds.

I agree, JTR sounds fantastic. I'm going to get 2 strains, I'm thinking 2 of these 3 - JTR, Jillybean and Pandoras Box. Which two would be best for depresssion/bi-polar/anxiety? Subcool if you're around your advice would be much appreciated. I've got a fairly high tollerance from years of poor quality weed, JTR sounds right but Pandoras Box sounds potent too.

The buzz is up, speedy, very shit eating grin and smiling like a Cheshire cat like high. It’s a bit smoother than JTR and has a different feel in the head less haze influence. I can’t tell where the ceiling is as every bowl I smoke I seem to get a bit higher until the point my vision blurs. Not for light weights. I can’t stop grinning when I smoke this weed.
