Auto seeds go "automatically" to flower when they are ready. They do not need the light to change to 12/12 to flower. These can produce male or female plants. They are created by breeding a Sativa or Indica with a C. Ruderalis. This species of Cannabis comes from the far north, in Russia, and cannot count on the sun to tell it when to flower so it does it by time instead.

Feminised seeds are seeds that have been pollinated by another female plant that was forced to become a hermaphradite by treating the plant with gibberellic acid, a plant hormone. These seeds have a higher probablity of becoming female but they also have a higher probability of becoming a hermaphradite.

So, autoseeds are easy for beginners since you don't have to know when to put them into flower and feminised seeds let you get more females.

I forgot to mentiton that with the auto-flowers you can't have mothers since you can't keep the plant in veg just by having it stay under 18/6 light. They are also virtually impossible to clone effectively because all clones are the same age which means you'll just have some really, really tiny plants since they are already older than a seedling would be at that age.

Thats good information!! it makes sense that you can't keep the mother....

As kludge says, Autoflowering means You dont need to change the light cycle for it to flower. These plants are generally quite short about 2-3 ft, and not very big yeilders, also you cant clone them, A good one to play with is the feminised\lowrider 2, this strain comes mixed with ak-47. lovely bit of smoke. Hope this helps.
