I was given an option of choosing 1, 2, or 3 years for the card. I chose 2. Why did I need to choose? And what happens after it expires?

I started last year but didn’t follow up. But at least I did it correctly this time due to my condition. But the regs require the fingerprints to be taken within a recent time span. Can’t recall, but I think it’s 30 days. I found that weird.

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense to me. Applying online isn't too hard to do. I have been waiting for years so a couple or so weeks makes no difference. I just need relief.
