What amount of peroxide would you consider as a strong dose? Say for a 5 gallon res? I usually put about 5 ml per gallon, but would you suggest more per gallon?

Ahhhh... That may also be a part of my problem. I do use some bleach to clean them out. Even though i think i rinse them thoroughly there may be some remninse that is affecting them.

Yeah they are all seperate containers. As soon as i see a small amount of brown slime i add peroxide to try and catch it before it gets bad. You might be on to something with the plain water. I do put them in a bucket with plain ph'd water while i clean the res. Didnt know that could affect them.
