When switching to flower should I just go straight to 12/12 or should it slowly be introduced? Should the change happen at the end of the 18 hours of light?

Ok so I keep getting these big temptation to just move some of the soil and look at whats going on underneath, I planted a seed on the 14th, and just really want to know if anything at all is going on under there. How damaging/stressful could this be, if at all?

ok so its my first grow and i have planted 2 seeds into these strange soil pellet things for germination, during this stage should i not have the light on? and how tall or old should it be before putting light on? also how long will it be before i see it sprout?
