Freeze Drying Bud and Commercial Freeze Dryers

If you have any questions on it, you can PM me and I’ll help anyway I can! I’ve done many “experiments” with it so I know a little bit about a little bit. :) Have fun experimenting with it! I’m sure you’ll find plenty of uses for it between harvests!

Freeze Drying Bud and Commercial Freeze Dryers

Been awhile but I have a HR freeze drier and tried drifting some fresh flowers out in it. What I did was custom run it on the lowest temp set and froze it for 12hr and set the final dry to 12 hr. It took over a day to run and realistically I could of gone with less time. The flowers will look...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Well, as an update. Girls are improving greatly with the conversion to K4L nutes and a sterile res. Roots have started growing great and my res has almost 0 fluctuations. Ph and ppm remain about the same as when I start a fresh res and the girls are drinking a good amount of water in the last 3...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Not running RAW. Just K4L hydro grow blend (the one without the bennies) K4L B Vit. H202. 3/4tsp each of the two part grow (430ppm.) literal pinch of B Vit. 18ml H202 Ph of 5.5

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

I mean I ran those rings for a day and sprayed everything down with h202 and a sink sprayer. So hard to imagine I didn’t throughly soak it. My fears is the porous growstones are harboring the bastards. I’m going to run 6ml a gal of 34% h202 in this nute changeout and keep the drip ring on and...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Well, even with the new nutes and such I’m still seeing the gunk affect any root that’s in the water.... Res is clean, airstone is clean, pretty much everything but the roots are clean..... This is rather annoying....

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

It’s all good friend. I’m still not out of the woods with my girls, didn’t want to see this thread spin out of control off topic. Just Incase others take the same path I’m on. Nothing Annoys me more than unresolved or off topic threads. As someone who often looks to forums for help or info I...

    Problem with young plants

Looks like PH curl to me. Having your ph off will affect the uptake of nutes. Check PH of the runoff and let us know. Did you buffer your coco with calmag before planting?

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Sounds like you should open up your own thread and ask for help instead of hijacking mine.... Just courteous...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

I always mix my nutes and such in a separate bucket and then add to my res. So the B vits are well mixed before they ever hit the res. I also noticed a couple of gnats flying around so I Mylar taped the top of the buckets to keep them out and keep the res sealed and protected. The girls are...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

This is why I love hydro. Lol. I can add or remove anything in the system and get almost instant feedback and results. I’m not bashing dirt or any other grow style, I just like the science and I am impatient.

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Well, I got my kelp4less nutes Monday. I put in 6ml a gal of h202 and let the drip rings run for 6 hours to hopefully clean up the grow stones. I pulled the buckets out, bleached them, pulled the air stones and gave them a bath in high strength H202, and sprayed off the affected roots with a...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Well, I’m gonna change the nutes and run a round of h202 and see if that does it, in the meantime I’ll read more into the pool shock just in case I need to go nuclear. I fear there is nothing aside from boiling the stones to kill all the bad stuff in there. They are exactly like pumice...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Ive seen people mention using bleach and I’d rather not go that route. I guess that’s what I was saying. I’m also not too fond of using chlorine/calcium hypochlorite If I could help it...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

That’s why I said bleach or trichloro s triazinetrione which is what non chlorine pool shock is. Also, like I stated before, I’ve read up on the use of bleach and “safe level” and all that... The not wanting to go that specific route is personal preference, nothing more. It also goes against...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Not saying you’re completely wrong but I think that statement is flawed. I’m not doubting you’ll grow some nasties in molasses water alone but saying it will be exactly the same as when you add molasses to a res full of benificial microbes is not true. Also if you reread some of my posts you’ll...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

I went with RAW because I had a friend do a kick ass DWC grow with it and from all the research I’ve done and reading I’ve done this had basically everything I’ve seen others run with a bunch of supplements. So I decided to try it out for my self. Originally I did have cyano because of light...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Well, originally I was hoping to go the Bennie route. I like the idea of having all the extra life helping the plants and wanted to give it a shot. With the first slime issue I had, I treated with tea to try and keep my system happy and not go sterile (which I couldn’t do anyways with raw)...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

I ran the H202 on drip rings and used a spray bottle as well to get to what I could. Those drip rings ran 24hr. Also, I was only using bennies and stuff to combat the original bloom I encountered. (Other than what’s in the raw grow nutes) and it helped with that, but then I got another type of...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

I haven’t looked into the pool shock route yet (seen it, just haven’t spent the time reading up on it) I was hoping to find out what this is and what’s causing it. I did run h202 (35% @ 8ml gal) for about 24hr after washing down the net pots with a sink sprayer. I’m thinking the same thing as...
