If you're seeing milky / amber trich then flush away. From my experience flushing isn't necessary, if you feel the need to remove salt buildup from soil then do so. Looks good! Cheers.

Look into LED for heat elimination, those CFL's really arent worth it, especially if you live in a hot climate.

Looks like his rez is made of styrofoam? Light proof that thing, you'll probably run into issues if the plant gets any bigger as the weight could crack those lids. when you flush your rez you should rinse and sterilize, I'd also sterilize air lines and air stones, or just buy fresh ones...
