You will probably see those older roots die off / become less of a factor and the new ones absolutely explode and take over. I notice it a lot when transplanting from cuttings :)

Recommendation for tent other than gorilla

Yeah and Apollo's are cheap enough that if you decide to frame it out later, not a huge loss. You can always hock 'em on Craigs if you decide to go more perma. Happy growing :)

Recommendation for tent other than gorilla

Gorilla is the best, but you specifically asked for other tent recommendations. I would stay away from Lighthouse Hydro, haven't had good experiences there from a build quality perspective myself and friends have concurred. I think you should probably stick with Apollo. D'oh, you are correct! I'm not sure about the Dimlux fixture though. The site says to use it in a 1000w high-frequency ballast that's dimmed down to 600w. The Dimlux (if it's the one I am thinking of is a 630w fixture, but it's really 2x315w: http://www.dimluxlighting.com/dimlux-630-cmh.html I...

Any1 here grown orchid from seed?

I second the above, you totally CAN do it, but it's not a great idea if you're new to orchids. You should probably go with already grown orchids and learn to care for them first, then go for growing from seed!

Have yet to hear good things about the DE 630s. Seems like the Philips Mastercolor 4200K / 3100K is still best in class, though they don't offer a 630. I have buddies who are just using 2x 315w setups instead of going up to the 630. Makes sense that Philips lamps would still be best, just since...
