1000w hps is overworking my leaves

Bleaching to me is when the light is too close/intense in a specific spot. I think that the problem I'm experiencing is that the intensity of the light as a whole is pushing the plant to a level of growth that my typical nutritional regimen can't keep up with. I need to experiment with higher...

1000w hps is overworking my leaves

I agree. I don't think it's LED specific. It's just the intensity and I'm not sure exactly what adjustments will fix it yet. I'll report once I get to run new healthy plants

1000w hps is overworking my leaves

I've had the exact same problem using a spectrum king 400 led. I have two tents side by side one with a 600 and the other with the led, same strains, the only difference being the different lights. I read over on IC that you have to up nutrients to compensate for the increase in the plants...

Can I use EcoScraps to make a tea?

So recently I had fungus growth in my soil and at the base of a plant of mine. I originally was using FF Marine Cuisine which is a mix of quick release chemical nutrients for instant feeding and organic material for thereafter. After the initial release of chemical nutrients, you're basically...

    PPM for soil

But guys wouldn't knowing your ec/ppm be helpful in knowing how strong you feed is? For example, 2ml of Dyna FP has always worked for me from start to finish.... now lets say I were to switch over to Fox Farms line... I never follow the bottles instructions cause they tend to be too strong...

Extra oxygen promotes rot?!? Since when???

    Bottoms of plants dying

I actually didn't know that. Cool bit of info. my results have never been as good as premium soil brands unless I fix it up a bit, but the "Moisture Control" is the only one that I have had trouble with as is. Guys please understand that my intention isn't to argue. I hate dick measuring...

    Bottoms of plants dying

Again, I have to politely disagree. As long as your soil has adequate drainage and oxygen levels, you will not run into root rot. the soil I used obviously did not.

    Bottoms of plants dying

I do it for stability. The deeper I bury the stem better the soil holds it in place IMO. I've made a few fem crosses too but so far I haven't been as happy with the offspring as with the moms. Definitely want to do more seed runs too though. Btw is it just me or does it seem like less places...

    Bottoms of plants dying

Just to be clear, you're right that excess moisture on the stem is bad, but properly aerated soil won't cause those problems. In fact an easy way to take clones from hard to clone strains is air layering which is basically covering a portion of a stem or branch with soil until roots sprout

    Bottoms of plants dying

You could actually bury half the plant if you wanted. Obviously, there would be no benefit to that, but soil burying a portion of the stem isn't the cause of stem rot. Lack of oxygen and excessive moisture is. In fact there are a couple threads around here fully dedicated to burying stretchy...

    Bottoms of plants dying

When replant clones I typically replant them a node or two under the surface of the soil.

    Bottoms of plants dying

Before I get crap for that too here's a plant in the same room also in MG but the original potting mix. By the time I'm ready for flower my plants are a couple feet tall and have used up all the soil has to give so I start feeding them my own nutrition plan. Strain is Bubba OG by Dr.Greenthumb

    Bottoms of plants dying

You're absolutely right... I have a habit of using what my wife has laying around. I usually use fox farm or roots organic but I've had decent results in a pinch with MG and Osmocote. This specific time though I used MGs moisture control and it holds on to water waaaay longer than expected...

    Bottoms of plants dying

Hey. I get a lot of crap for it from certain people, but dichlorvos has always been my secret weapon when all else fails. Its dangerous stuff if you don't respect it and take the proper precautions. Be very careful when using it though and you should be alright. It's used in flea collars and...

    Can I start 12/12?

@twostrokenut is right that a plant won't flower until it reaches maturity. While many indicas and hybrids will show preflowers, and even start flowering as early as 2 1/2 weeks, plants that take longer to reach maturity will remain in a vegetative state until fully mature. Just ask @Uncle Ben...
