I've opened a couple and it seems like a drop of liquid is in it. Almost like a paste when you rub it in between your fingertips. I did find one with a tiny little green ball in it so I think that was a seed starting to form.,

Had the same and mine ended out being thrips. Monterey Garden Spinosad took them out quick. I think Neem oil only stuns them while spinosad will eradicate them. Hate those little effers. It took only two applications of the Spinosad and they were long gone.
