After 1st grow screw ups from bad LEDs the problem is fixed.

Good and bushy looking plants so far! Quite small for their age, but healthy looking, and it may be that they are so bushy the height deficiency isn't a problem. Be prepared the stretch - if space is an issue, and it sure looks like it is, you might want to start thinking of flipping to 12/12...

Flowering in small pots and coco

I would advocate fresh air intake and exhausting outside - allowing fresh co2 and venting heat and smell instead of it building up. You need to keep humidity low to make the carbon filter work too.

Flowering in small pots and coco

Transplant them! Tiny pots = tiny root structure = tiny plants. I'm not sure why you are suggesting keeping them in small pots or flowering now - if you flower now, you still won't have done before Fall is over and Winter is here. The way I see it, when you're growing, you are going to a...

First Grow - a reflection on lessons learned, and credits

The Cure & Processing of Concentrates The autos were harvested around a month ago, and are curing nicely. Every day the flavour improves. I have made water hash from the leaves, and all the popcorn buds are being stored for making some BHO when the time comes. The BHO will be a mix of all...

First Grow - a reflection on lessons learned, and credits

Environment I used a passive intake, a 5" exhaust through a carbon filter, and two circulation fans. This would have been plenty, had I not opted to grow four plants in this small space. Humidity and heat were a nightmare, not least because I was growing in the height of summer - both big...

First Grow - a reflection on lessons learned, and credits

Nutrients I spent more money on nutrients than, in retrospect, I realise I needed to. I used Canna Coco A&B, Canna Rhizotonic and Cannazyme. Next time I won't bother with the Cannazyme, as I don't intend on reusing the medium. During flowering I added in Buddha's Tree nutes: Meta Boost, PK...

First Grow - a reflection on lessons learned, and credits

Growing Medium I decided to use coco coir as a medium, and this was a good choice. It meant that the inevitable mistakes I made with feed were easily corrected, as coco coir flushes through with every watering, removing excess nutes. I vegged the plants for about a month under a MH bulb, at...

First Grow - a reflection on lessons learned, and credits

This week I harvested the last of four plants, and thought it might be useful to myself (for the future) and hopefully to others who bother to read it, to post a reflection on how it went, the lessons I learned, and to tip my hat to those who have helped me considerably through this intensive...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

Thanks for the encouragement, she is down. I've trimmed the most immature foxtails into the hash bucket with the leaf and popcorn. The yield looks incredible to say it's my first grow, and it was a freebie seed that I had lying around for two years. Some big, fat colas on there, the biggest...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

bump..... "will my finished buds crackle and taste horrible because I only gave them pure water for three days instead of a week?" and "will my plant be over ripe if I leave it the extra days needed to finish with water?"

    ways to bring humidity down

My 2c: Dehumidifiers work well but up the temperature. Damp rid works if you throw lots of them at the problem and are prepared to keep emptying them, refilling them, and buying more. Air-con, if you can afford it, will kill two birds with one stone, reducing heat and humidity in one. I couldn't...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

That may be a simple answer, but not an easy one for a newb. Questions arise in my head such as "will my finished buds crackle and taste horrible because I only gave them pure water for three days instead of a week?" and "will my plant be over ripe if I leave it the extra days needed to finish...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

Thanks for the advice and coaching as ever folks. I started flushing them yesterday, and will probably chop in a couple of days. Yeah, I know, some will say I should flush longer and others will say don't bother at all. What do I know? I know that debate will rage forever! But, whilst I...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

That much I know. The question pertains to, on any given bud, the lower parts have matured, but these late foxtails have not. Do I cut that bud to prevent the already mature part from degrading, then trim off the immature parts, or do I let the whole bud go the whole way?

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

A further question - on some of the lower buds, which are also starting to foxtail, albeit less so than the top colas, I am starting to see some amber trichomes. Should I wait until the whole bud matures, or cut these ones now, as some of the trichs are degrading already?

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

Thanks. I'm not worrying too much, but it is a bit of a pain in the ass that the tops of the buds are going to be ready much later than the bottom! Is there anything that can be done to put an end to it and get the girl to finish up? Also, is there anything that can be done to make them...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

Yep that's exactly what's happening to mine. An extra growth spurt. I guess I will have to harvest lower, non foxtailing buds earlier, as they are ripening quicker (and therefore with no flush, which will be an intriguing experiment), and leave these top ones for another week or two. I've...

Buds getting spindly and less dense at 11 weeks, advice appreciated!

My super lemon haze which has for the most part has been a wonderful grow, at 11 weeks from 12/12, is still finishing and seems to be having a last ditch attempt at growth, but in a really weird, spindly manner. The calyxes are fat, but then just a few on each bud are growing further than the...

Any way to make them finish quicker?

Unfortunately the sealed environment necessary for the use of CO2 would create too much heat for my little tent. Plus, the added expense this close to the finish would be a pain, as I don't plan on growing for another couple of years. Thanks, I will give that a go (the drop to 10 hours of...

Any way to make them finish quicker?

PS, the info I have seen so far suggests a quicker finish but lower yield under 13 hours darkness. Given my buds are already fat as can be, would there be much yield loss if I added more dark hours at this late stage?
