depends on the strain. some high strands if i smoke em before bed and not burned out yet my mind just goes everything thinking too much and i can never sleep. other times i hit the bed like a sack of potatoes and am out in no time though.

i tried blowing it out a window once, not really to be stealthy but because my friend didn't allow smoking inside the house. the wind carried it right down the side of the house into his window. suffice to say it didn't work out too well. the paper towel + dryer sheets has worked for my buddy...
