I run 1000w ballasts during cooler parts of the year and switch to 600s during hit summer months. You'll be happy to have that extra 200 watts if at times your able to use it.

600 unless temps get too high or can't raise the light enough and its too intense. Then you can just drop down to 400.

Get a 600w solis tek ballast if $160 isnt outta your price range, 160 delivered from nehydro. Set it on 400 and run a 400w bulb. If you wanna run 600w just set ballast to 600 and slap a 600w bulb in. I'll run nothing but solis tek ballasts and ushio bulbs since my first purchase, truly love um both.

75 cents to a dollar a day for 12 hours at 400w would be my guess.
