Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

Hey Guys, An update... so my plants are finally doing well it seems. Here are the things I am doing: 1. I attached an air conditioner to my cab to keep the reservoir at cool (18 degs C) 2. I taped up all my containers to be light-proof. 3. I re-adjust my pH levels about every other day. I...

Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

Here are some pictures of my setup: I just changed the res and now it's at a 5.7. I added some H2O2. We'll see how long it last.

Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

Great explanation! I did have one question though. How is it that other successful growers do not seem to have this problem? From the grow journals I've read through it seems like people usually just adjust the pH during reservoir changes. Is it just a matter of the nute brand? As for my RO...

Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

Well I usually just fill up the reservoir then add Flora Micro, then Flora Gro and Flora Bloom. Followed up with a good mixing then H2O2. Then I pH it to 5.5. The tap water at my place comes out of the faucet at about 500 ppm. So I don't think it'll work. Those Technaflora nutes sound...

Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

Hey Guys, So a few things I forgot to mention in my last post: 1. I am using RO water purchased from a local water shop. 2. I am using GH Flora series nutes, which is synthetic and shouldn't be a problem with H2O2. 3. I hit my res with Mad Farmer H2O2 every other day. Doesn't effect pH...

Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

@ sixstring: I tried leaving my pH @ 6.3 and the leaves of my plants are crazy twisted. I am not sure it's because of the pH, but when I try looking up what causes twisted leaves it looks like Zinc def which is caused by pH being too high. @ Sgt Pepper: So you're water is low enough in pH...

Is using pH down daily bad for plants?

Simple question, but I've never gotten a simple answer. I am using a Ebb/Flow system with a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket as a reservoir (I have taped it up with aluminum tape to make it as light proof as I can). I flood the tray for 15 minutes (smallest increment my timer can do) every 4...

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

Hi Buckshot; I am using FloraMicro for soft water, so I think it has been fortified with some extra mag and calc to offset the RO H2O. Here's a picture of the labels:

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

Holy shit! So you just mix your nutes into your tap water and let'em have it? What would you recommend I try? Also, my older fan leaves have all turned yellow and dried out, which I was led to believe is N def, no? I think it's probably caused by pH lockout, but you make it sound so easy...

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

Wow, 800! That's pretty high. I will give it a shot and try to use some tap water. Since you have a lot of experience with hempys, can I ask you what pH you aim for when feeding? My girl has lots of twisted leaves which, from what I've read, is caused my pH problems. Unfortunately for me...

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

I don't have anyway of controlling the temps other than the initial pour. The soln sits in the pot for several days.

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

Hi Kal El, Do you use nutrients that accomodate for the stuff already in the tap. The nutrients that I use specifically say its for soft water. The water coming out of my tap comes out to 170 ppm which I think is considered hard. Thanks.

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

Greetings OregonMeds! Thanks for popping in and sharing your advice. It was in some other thread where you shared your experience on spider mites and it really helped me out. Thank you for that! As for the water temp, I don't know if it matters, but the water temps are more like 75-76 degs...

Hempy bucket- what am I doing wrong?

Hey there everyone, I am growing a Burmese Widow in a 2qt Hempy bucket filled just with perlite. I bought the plant as a clone about 2 months ago and have not been able to give her what she needs. In the 2 months she has gone from a 6" clone to a 9" twig. I have done so much reading and yet...

Can't figure out why she's drooping! Any help?

Okay, so I'm pretty sure that the cause of the wilting was the fan. I think the fan blowing directly on the plants was just drawing off too much moisture. The wilting I described above did not look like wilting from underwatering, which is what made me think of over transpiration. In the couple...

Can't figure out why she's drooping! Any help?

Hi Boneman, Thanks for your advice. I don't think it's over-watering because that's been my problem since the start and I'm pretty stingy with feeding. My hempy buckets are just juice bottles that are wrapped with alum foil so I usually water by ear (so to speak) by peeling back the foil and...

Can't figure out why she's drooping! Any help?

Hi All, I've read through tons of FAQs and threads and can't seem to find one that looks exactly like my problem. If anyone would like to lend me some experience and point my in the right direction I would be very appreciative! How long has this problem been going on? 1 month Are you...

Inexplicable wilting - please help me troubleshoot!

So just to update for those who might cross this thread later with the same problem. I flushed the plants with pH'ed water for two days and it really seemed to perk them up. No more "claw" leaves (which I think was caused my N excess). I have just started bumping the soln back up to slightly...
