the bottom 3/4 of my plant is ready to harvest, but the cola is not ready and still needs a week or two to finnish. Can i take that much off the plant and leave the cola on to ripen? or will i kill the plant?

my plants have 5-6 nodes and are 15 inches tall and seem real healthy. my only concern is that they seem to rapidly grow up but not out. I have a top grow 26w CFL seems to be plenty. I do have 3 plants triangled in each pot but was afraid to seperate cause the roots are entangled. would that be...
