Don't fret. I lost 2 in the process as well.. Those fans don't have reverse polarity protection so if you wire them backwards they fry quick. Just make sure you have a good power supply. For some reason an old Bose 12v adapter I tried killed 2 fans. Make sure you know which lead is positive...
