They usually start giving an odor maybe mid flower depends on strain. If your talking about that familiar skunky ganja smell then it may start after a proper dry and cure. The seedlings give a neat little stentch also but it is not like that of a mature flowering female plant..I could be wrong.

I would wait until my tolerance has went down a little maybe a few days or so then hit that ganja and be high all day.
