Super lemon haze Day 1 with new 400W aircooled HPS

Hey man, glad I came across your journal. I am in week 6 of flower with an SLH and it's already showing lots of red hairs and receding pistils, much earlier than I expected. In what week did you end up harvesting?

    Lots of questions

So...many...words. I think you will get better responses if you focus your discussion a bit. Maybe one or two questions at a time.

Heat issue no other place to go!

It is a great fan. I bought one myself and did a ton of research before I did. This is the cheapest you will find it anywhere. It sells for upwards of $200 in some places. As for your friend who grew 15 plants with zero smell...I would not take any advice from that person anymore.

Heat issue no other place to go!

Just another thought as I consider your problem further. You say that you are planning to vent outside through the floor, which is a good idea, but you do know that the exhaust is going to smell pretty strongly when you get to late veg and flower, right? This scent can travel a good distance...

Heat issue no other place to go!

Wop, take it from someone who has in the last month or so finally conquered the same exact problem you describe. I did everything, including all that you describe above and was pulling my hair out. Everything the other posters say about intake/exhaust is spot on. You're fighting a losing battle...

Please tell me this is normal

Very glad to hear this. They look much greener this morning than they did last night. Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to hit them with the scissors again. Just reading up on manicuring and recognizing that I didn't manicure near enough. These mothers have a ton of sugar leaves.

Please tell me this is normal

lol That's actually a cutting board you're seeing there. Have no idea what the stain is. I was excited but not THAT excited.

Please tell me this is normal

Thanks man! It's been quite an experience and I am ready to try out my first ever bud. So no worries about any mildew judging by that first pic?

Please tell me this is normal

Exactly. I just last night hung my second plant in the same area the jar is curing (and burping). So if it doesn't "grow" after a few hours in the bag, I should feel pretty good? Here's my second plant by the way, definitely the best colas of this crop. I'm proud of this one.

Please tell me this is normal

That's exactly what I'm hoping I AM seeing. This is all new to me, so I saw all those white spots and my buds looking more whitish then greenish and wanted to make sure that's what I am supposed to be seeing.

Please tell me this is normal

Yeah, these are definitely more like spots, like the trichs are popping white, not cottony or webby at all. Hopefully I'm just being super sensitive, but I didn't expect the color to change so dramatically like that.

Please tell me this is normal

Drying some buds using the dry/cure method where you hang for 3-4 days then jar with a hygrometer. I jarred last night and after 11 hours, my jar RH had only risen to 63 percent, but my buds look whitish or maybe palish. I think (I hope) it's just the trichs but I also worry about some kind of...

    Salt test inaccurate?

I've been using one of those Accurite temp/humidity gages and I worried about the accuracy of the RH. So I did two separate salt tests on the gage using the linked directions: http://www.cigarpass.com/index.php/salt-test-calibrate-hygrometer.html The first test leveled at 66 percent after four...

I'm a bit confused about drying

lol It's a coat closet, and I removed all the coats for this very reason.

Manicure then dry? Or dry then manicure?

Thanks for all the input. My first plant was ready before my other three, so I started the drying process for it before manicuring. Just looking at the hanging plant three days later, I can totally see how what all of you say is going to be true. I will struggle through it as best as I can and...

Manicure then dry? Or dry then manicure?

Just starting my first harvest and I see people say to manicure before drying and others say to dry first. So far, this is the most convincing reason offered to simply hang the entire plant and manicure after drying: What do you think?

I'm a bit confused about drying

Think I'm going to try this method.

I'm a bit confused about drying

Just started my first harvest of some Easyryders and have my plants hanging in a dark closet with temps about 75-80 and RH about 50-60. My RH was a tad high, so I put a box fan on low on the floor beneath the plants just in case. I also put a Damp Rid in there for good measure. I understand...

So circulate air during drying or not?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll make sure to open the closet door a few times a day and keep an eye on the humidity. I appreciate your help!

So circulate air during drying or not?

I've seen some guides that say indirect air circulation is a must; others say no air movement at all. I just started drying in a closet, temps 75-79, RH 50-55. Do I need a fan in there or not?
