i have been growing autoflowrs for 3 years now...and i can tell you there is a definite time to switch...the buds you see start on autoflowers stay the same size until vertical growth stops...once vertical growth stops the plant is in full bloom and lites and nutes should be switched.

One fresh(not dry) plant ground up, allowed to set over nite in a water bath, then ground material is sqeezed, liquid is then allowed to evaperate leaveing about a 1/2 gram of tar or more. Not just useing the pod, but the whole plant. From everything I've read its really hard to grow them...

If I were you I'd consider sativas or sativa dom for you climate. Put a screen over it on poles like a tent to shade in the hotest part of the day.
