Oh GOD I hate those budworms!! I'm finding damage after hanging branches to dry when it's time to remove the buds. I've even had a few fat caterpillars come out of a bud while I'm trimming, but have never seen them on the plant before I cut it. Next year (LOL) I'm going to spray the dish soap...

Thanks for your input! The info I have says you spray them on the soil, right, and I'm pretty sure they they burrow into the dirt, which is why they are effective for root aphids and such... I'm thinking having them in the soil will nip the borer larva problem in the bud, so to speak. Oh crap -...

It sure is! You can find videos on YT that show it's made by heating bho in a shallow pan and stirring consistently until it forms wax. Pretty cool!

At least I think they are called budworms, but since last year there were bore holes in the trees where the little b*stard entered I think it's more like a borer of some kind. We have an outdoor grow. I was thinking of using them pro-actively or as a prevention from it happening again. Not fun...

I bought the 1 gal. 5 bag set from Virtual Sun to use with last year's leaf that I had in the freezer. I haven't used them yet, but they look very well made with sturdy material and double stitched. Hope someone comes along that has used the bags that can give you a better endorsement! ;P...

I think it depends on how tall you want your plants, but normally plants veg for about 8 weeks. I'm sure you could start it now by changing the lighting, but if you have room I'd let them get a little bigger. :) Hope that helps.

Oh holy smoke - my jack herer was planted too close to the rose bush and is getting less sun than the other 11 plants. It's only 6" tall and I found hairs on it today! I understand that flowering is triggered by the reduced sunlight normally in late July or August. I have a space to replant...
