What is your water temp and what is the air temp?

Just a quick question about hydroton. I use soil 90% of the time and am wondering if I put a good layer of hydroton on top if it will help stop soil compaction and distribute water more evenly. Any thoughts? Thanks BigBudE

Thanks for the reply's everyone. Its in a conceled co2 injected room so no smoke or contaniments, exept what might be in the filter from before using it in G room.
