I have a few SGS-160's and these are still good lights. I'd still like to know if anyone done any type of upgrade or conversion to COB etc on any of the Area 51 lights? I would love to know what you have done, what worked, what didn't. Are there any ideas for upgrades?

It appears that Area 51 may no longer be in operation or is at least gone for a while. I have a few SGS-160 lights and some W90 lights. The W90's seem like an easy upgrade by changing them to Vero29 Gen 7's. If there are better options for the W90's someone please chime in. I am not very savvy...

I will be using a 2x4 as well and I was wondering how 2 lamps would work in there. Thanks for the test you did. :grin:

I have a Northern Lights Photon 180 Gen 7 with the new Vero 29's. I have not had a chance to use it yet but your grow gives me promise. I know this grow can't really be a comparison for my light but is does give an idea of the quality of their lights. Thanks for taking the time to journal this.

I saw some former post of yours talking about SGS160's. I am just curious how you would see the comparison of the RW's and the SGS's.

Perhaps someone knows enough to put this in terms I can relate to by answering this. If I have a current or former A51 light such as an SGS / XGS / RW etc. How many W90's will it take to compare with one of the former lights. I'm just trying to get a perspective.

Based on this thought, does anyone one have any idea if it would be a bad thing for the canopy coverage to mix the new lights in with lights like the SGS's , XGS's, RW's, Apaches, G8's Kessils etc?

Thumbs up on the lights! I had an 85LBS Doberman and now a 7LBS Pomapoo. What a change up that was. I can't weigh the love from either one of them. (Love them pooches)

I thank you for the simplicity of that answer. I think I may keep one or two for veg and upgrade 2 for flowering stage. I'm still shooting for my first attempt.

If I wanted to upgrade a couple of SGS-160's is it possible to say what kind of difference I should see from the upgrade?

When I posted here before I had 3 SGS-160's. I now have 4 SGS-160's and 1 Apache Tech AT200. I am considering doing 2/ 2x4's or 1 4x4 tents with this . Thinking that the Apache could be in the middle in a 4x4. I do wonder if the upgrades will apply to the SGS-160's? And if so how much will that...

I am liking the sound of the upgrade. Would this mean the SGS models would get an even bigger increase?

Thanks for that info. I ended up with a lot of different LED over the last year or 2. The goal was to compare them and find out for myself which ones did what.I have every intrention of doing a bit of indoor vegetable gardening so the will still get used in the future. It's all pretty new to me...
