This is all BS, as long as ferts are used you can grow a friggin tree in a 1 gal pot. You could grow it till nothing in the pot is left but a white tangle of roots and it will be fine. A better post would have been "Use 1 gal for each month of vegging to 'prevent' root bound stress issues"...

Sativas like warmer soil to germinate, while indica can germ in cooler. flowering for indica and all hybrids is 12/12 while for sativas should be 11/13. Sativa also likes a bit lower PPM on the nutes.
