The only time I've had an odd number of fingers per leaf is when I clone from a plant in flower. After it grew a while, the plant started growing a normal amount of fingers per leaf.

During flowering... not sure if this will work, but take some gauze or scotch tape and strap it back in place. I've snapped branches many times.
