    Matching Drivers and COBs

Sometimes you must be spoonfed fish before you become a fisherman. So the debate continues of the same old questions, it is a good thing every old question reanswered is passing knowledge down the pipe.

Sorry my mistake. That what I get for driving at night and getting my copilot to text. The amperage being put out by driver is 1 amp. it is split among three 1212s. Just read amperage on single COB it was .3335. So 35V COB at .333MA is putting out 11.6 Watts? Good thing just Veging in there. I...

Using your lever terminals I get 1 amp off the hot lead going into terminal. Current of 1 amp feeds 3 cobs. They are in a 1.7 sqft cabinet. Using RIU calculator 3 @ 1 amp provides enough power. Is that per Cob or total?

Dumb question of the day. Me Sorry. In a parallel setup using a H185. It is giving 35 v across all Cobs. My Amp reading at terminal intake is 1 amp. Does that mean each Cob is getting 333Ma or is each getting the full 1amp? I apologize for my ignorance.

Agree that reading is essential for these builds. Although questions asked in this thread serve as an open custom service conversation. It helps when others can read previous answers. Maybe a FAQ tacked as first post would help.

I got you. this stuff I got from Steves is a one part silver infused adhesive. Used it on three watt stars no sweat made assembly a snap. Guess Gorilla glue is out. :) I saw a vid on Youtube from Green whatever for attaching COBs direct but didn't like the Kapton tape thing.

Sometimes reading to much leads to confusion and second guessing for Newbs. I got a 1.6 sq.ft. cabinet with Mylar lined walls. Going to run three 1212s on a 10 inch profile passive sink using a Meanwell 185 @ 1.05A. Going to grow continuous popsickles. According to calculator i'll get around...

Ive never built one in parallel. I could do it but thought that puts the LEDs at risk if one burns out. Im old school started with 3 watt Osrams and a hundred solder joints per light. Hes the expert and Im no engineer. Appears tech has blown by me. My last DIY light lasted 4 years. OK back on...
