The "3 months" of feeding is all slow release ferts that can screw you when start feeding. best bet is to go back to a store and make your own mix, cheap and easy method is 1cuft bag compost $2, 1 8quart bag peat moss $2-$4, 1 8quart bag perlite $2-$4. So with ~$10 you...

They should if not try using distilled water for a bit instead of RO. some plants don't like it and some soils act weird with it because of the low tds

    Brown/Silver spots

Micro nutes def like copper, boron, etc. This is a fairly common problem with RO should clear up with nutes if your using organics. plus the new growth looks like it is having a pH issue get a meter asap. Need to bring the water down to 5.8-6.2 if possible with RO so nutes can be absorbed with...

    aphids water+soap treatment

Rub your finger along them and brush any dirt off. As for the soap and water i would blow dry them by hand or blow dryer on cool or else you could get mold.

    compost tea and hydroponics

If your worried about overloading with sugars try a steeping method instead. The compost nutes will leech into the water instead of having to brew. Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCbeALuAYsg This is not me, it is a very interesting video a stumbled upon.
