    Interesting theory, need some advice

i have 2 "mother" plants that i'm trying to figure something out. I call them "mother" plants cause i'm an idiot and and i know one is a male (or possibly a male produced grapes on one of the clones i took). i destroyed the clone, but forgot witch one it came off of. so, about 2 weeks ago, i...

newbie help, Cloning and lighting (per se)

ok, well not exactly a newbie, i have very little experience in growing (even though i have a green thumb according to my grandma and mum and the last harvest yeilded some "killer shit!", witch i doubt, probably just being nice) but i've been trying to clone. my poor mother plant is being...

    coffee and vanilla smelling weed?

i wouldn't think so but one of my girls (grown from bag seed) smells just like fresh coffee (she's only about 2 weeks into flowering) where as another one smells very skunky and the third is a real sweet smell. i was hoping to find out the strain.

Is this a good find on exhaust fan?

Depending on how big ur duct work is, HomeDepot has a "Booster Fan" for even less than the walmart blower and compairable CFM to the squirrel fan. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xlo/R-100080191/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 The 8" duct-fan has free air...

    Please Comment on this

To me that seems overkill on lights. I've heard that u can have too much light and with that many bulbs in such a small space u might bleach ur plants. i've seen rooms that are 12' x 12' x 10' with only 2 bulbs. Granted they were on a light mover, but with the dimensions of 8x4x6 2 bulbs should...

    new light/air conditioner/add fan??

Need to know a bit more info: 1) How big is your grow room? a 120cfm fan will "empty" a room that's 4'x5'x6' in a minute. but that also doesn't take into consideration the heat generated by the HPS. 2) where is the intake and exhaust fans located? Heat rises so the exhaust fan should b at the...

how's my setup and plants look?

Being a LB grower also, i found that visiting construction sites or sites where they are doing landscaping is the best way to get some decent pots. Most landscapers (at least around here) just throw the pots away once the tree/shrub is planted. i managed to salvage 3 - 5 gallon pots from the...

    Danger Zone

i have a few questions for ya; 1) like KaleoXxX asked, how old are they? 2) how big are the containers you have them in? 3) how often are you watering 4) what's the humidity of the room To me (and speaking from experience), it looks and sounds like it's root bound. so many people jump to "nute...

    which is more expencive?

guess i should have showed how i figured it out. i have to thank yahoo questions, but take the wattage of light(s), divide that by 1000 (1000 watts == 1 kilowatt). for example 400/1000 == 0.4. now multiply that number by how many hours it will be on a day, so 0.4*20 == 8 kWh a day. then take...

A few concerns for a first timer... (Try not to laugh =o))

ROFL, i picked up the same thing. tried to take it back and of course the lady behind the counter said "and what seems to be wrong with it?" I'm thinking the same as KaleoXxX, It's clear! how am i supposed to suprise the person i am gift wrapping this for!? i think it's quite obvious that they...

    Eletric Meter Tweak

Not a good idea to mess with the meter, like so many others have said, the Power Co is not dumb as dumb as we would hope. I'd build up ur usage gradually. Sure it might take a few months, but going from say $80 a month to $280, will raise some eyebrows in billing. growinman made a good point on...

    First grow(need some advice)

there are 2 things to pick up as soon as possible. 1) a wireless thermometer (i'd get one with an "outdoor humidity" option) and 2) a moisture meter. both are available at walmart for under $40 (at least here). When my babys (still don't know weather male or female) we in their germ stage, i was...

    which is more expencive?

if my calculations are correct, on a 20/4 schedule (for 30 days and using only a single 400w blub) the KWh is 240, where as the 18/6 is sitting at roughly 216. if you take and multiply that by the going rate of electricity (here it's $0.057 per KWh), so 20/4 would cost roughly $13.68 and the...

    New grower--have a few questions

For the first question i'm not sure. i personally use half gallon pots for germ and veg. (keeps the size down and still manageable in a closet grow room) Only way i know of sexing them early is to clone the plant when it's about 8-10" tall. then once the clone takes, put it into flowering. Nuts...

    a HUGE but tiny problem

I've seen a plant faint and come back to b stronger than ever. I personally would avoid the stress of sunlight/cfl switch. I'll b a bit hypocritical and say i've done this, but only due to the fact that i over watered and wanted to evaporate the excess water from the pot. It unfortunately did...

How often should i water Seedlings?

In the initial germ stages i watered once every 5 days in a half gallon container. i was looking at roughly about 2 inches tall. without pics or knowing how often you're watering, not real sure

    a nub ass question..lol

How old are your plants? growth (in my experience) is slow within the first 20 days, from the 20th day to the 30th day it shows almost 4x growth, and from the 30th to 40th day another 4x growth. for the most part i kept the light about an inch away form the plants but right now the biggest plant...

First Grow - How do i keep my plants short

I'm in the same boat, cramped growing quarters. I prefer topping to other methods. Mainly cause i can use the toppings as clones. I'm probably sure that i'm not the first to use toppings as clones. so far i've had pretty good luck with this method, but atleast it keeps the plants down. Who else...
