  • Dear Rasta Roy, would you say this is about accurate?:
    Coffee pick up: 4h/W
    Landscaping work: 5h/W
    Siffting/bagging etc 10-20h/w
So that’s about 20-30h/w to treat your overall input volume about 240 to 270 gallons per week and you get an output of0.5 cubic yard per week or about 100 gallons.
    Is this right?

It's right on average...landscaping can vary based on the size of your property and what it is, how much grass and trees you have. And the worms production can vary, it slows down a little in the winter months or if I add too fresh of produce or materials that aren't precomposted a little. But on average that's about right

The most accurate way to measure your output is to measure your input. On average 10 to 15% of your waste is what's turned into castings. So for about every 100 pounds of waste, you'll get about 10 to 15 pounds of castings.

Definitely a full time job but worth it if you love it.

Dear Rasta Roy, Thanks so much for the valuable info!
I am a bit surprised by the input/output ratio. What happens to the 90-85 % of waste? Does it turn into worm weight? it seems huge!
I understand your operation is outdoors. what are your winter low temperatures? it drops in the 20's here sometimes.
I am considering a cinder block/ windrow setup. Any recommendations?

bless me with some bio-fertilizer recipes using EM1. I am currently thinking of using neem meal, ckn poop, castings...
I will use this to water my organic outdoor garden. I am starting to trend towards anaerobic bennies instead of aerobic and need some of your wisdom. Thanks in advance.
    Cheers!

Right on brother feel free to ask me any questions.
Check out my grow journal! I'm combining organics with liquid feedings to develop an organic method to rival hydroponics growth and yields!
