It doesn't work that way. wow....Let's see....the "Candidate for Change" has now voted for continued funding of the war and has now voted to continue FISA in it's current form. Guess we need to redefine "change", yes?

The Federal gov't now has the ability to insidiously monitor voice/data traffic out of telcos across the nation without even having to ask permission to perform said wiretap(s). |

| | This is a disgrace to Obama and a large hole has just been ripped in our 4th amendment. Although this makes me distrust the candidate for change a little more, he's still 10 times better than the altermative. I'm starting to think the PTB have gotten to him. To let the telecoms and the bush regime off the hook, is well, off the hook! I wonder what drives these insane congressmen when they blatantly pull something like this, disgraceful to say the least, criminal to put it more succinctly. How do you straighten out our country when the leaders are all, but a few, crooks and liars. I see less and less difference between the dems and repukes with every passing day.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., issued a statement in support of the House’s update of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, but said he would try to strip a provision granting immunity to telecommunication companies when the bill comes to a vote in the Senate next week.

He didn't succeed and voted for it anyway, Left me "flummoxed" you might say, I believe also in this bill that the MSM is not talking about at all, is a provision that would let Bush and his cronies off for every crime they've ever committed, past, present, or future. Weve gone way past "1984", Orwell was right.
