Cops have been imbued with way too much power. Take the average 105 IQ person and give them life and death decision making responsibilities 24/7 with the power to pretty much do what they want and you have the current cop VS citizen situation. There needs to be consequences for their actions meted out by civilian oversight committees.
In Vegas for the past 50 years, there have only been one or two convictions for cops killing citizens. One that I know of was when two off duty cops did a drive by on some suspected gang-bangers and killed one. and then one cop turned on the other for immunity and named him as the shooter. I heard there was one other, a long time ago. Grand juries dont indite cops as a general rule. You end up in a dark alley with a cop and the cop comes out and you don't, don't expect the cop to do any jail time. Pretty much, if you get in an altercation with a cop and die, the cop walks, no matter the circumstances.
Most cops carry a throw away gun, one confiscated from some criminal with no tie to the cop, guess who owns it if you get shot, yup, you do.

Real quick because I have plans in a few. (This happened last weekend)

I parked my car in a mall because I was meeting up with a girl friend and she lives ~40mins away, and the mall is inbetween. So I get back to my car at ~12:30AM (midnight) and I really had to pee really bad and there were no stores around that were open. I looked through the parking lot and it was COMPLETELY empty, and I figured I could just take a piss on my tire. (This mall is not in a city or where anyone could see me unless they were in the parking lot.) So I proceeded to take a pee on my tire and then I went into my girlfriends car to do a little kissing and say goodbye.

Next thing I knew, the security car pulls up and a little guy comes out saying that he caught me pissing on camera and that he could have called the police for "public urination".. I then explained to him that I really had to pee and there was no one around. He continued to bust my balls like he was doing me a favor because he didn't call the cops on me...

What The Fock...... Is a person suppose to piss their pants when they are all alone... I thought it was a law that someone can pee on their tire if they REALLY have to pee.. Are we supposed to piss our pants?

I just can't believe what the world is coming to. I'm a man of integrity, and I have to deal with that... WTF..

Heres the scenario: Israel bombs Iran (with our full agreement), 1,000,000 KUDS cross over into Iraq killing our soldiers by the thousands, we declare war on Iran, the middle east erupts into a firestorm. All people of color (Any color) are rounded up as suspected terrorists and martial law is declared. How come there isn't a POLL in this thread. I would like to see the statistics of what peoples opinions are about the gov't(how many people actually trust the gov't)

Everyone pretty much hates bush, I wonder how people feel about the federal gov't, as a whole, in general...

Continue to play the race card if it makes you feel better. The sad part is in doing so you'll continue to fuel the us vs them attitudes. When in reality the ones holding Americans back are the few rich elites who continue to buy the politicians who in turn deny us our rights. Of course reelecting the same people who put us in this position doesn't help things.
