Default News You Can Use.

Hello all, this is the first time I started a thread. I think we can use a place where News items of interest can be posted for all to read. Since I'm basically a computer dummy I have to visit other forums to find out whats happening. Wavels has posted several items that I found interesting as have many others.
Yesterday in Texas they were holding a hearing on changing marijuana possesion penalties. Monday there was a freedom of speech hearing about the Bong Hits for Jesus sign. Minnesota is almost ready to get a marijuana medical bill passed. New Mexico's house passed a MdMJ bill last week. As soon as thier senate passes the same bill, Governor Richardson will sign it and he is running for President.
How about it folks. Can we all share this kind of information here??

Hi VV, Thanks for the kind words, you have summarized my thoughts well regarding Current News of interest to cannabis connoisseurs, and med users...
This is a great idea. There seems to be some momentum building politically as well as in the media for support of common sense reform of marijuana laws.
Liberty may be at hand....NOW is the time for ALL of us to PUSH!

Unfortunately, I think a lot of rollitup viewers keep away from Political forum, so I try and post ganja news in Medical forum.
Now’s the Time!

Well I just thought it might be worth a try. If you think it should be posted somewhere else I don't have any objection, go ahead and move it. I was promted by the post this morning saying Bong Hits for Jesus had made it all the way to Ohio. As I'm sure you know, oral arguments in this case were heard before the Supreme Court on Monday. I read the transcript. The Justices knowledge of what is going on seems to be way out of date. Some of us aren't very far ahead of them.lol VV

Bill Maher Speaking for Marijuana • VideoSift: Online Video *Quality Control I think someone else may have posted this link. I hadn't watched this one before. I was a little disappointed when he didn't expand on the economic issues. The million man march is a great idea. Should be warm enough in DC on April 20th, 2008. Could we really do it?? VV

Outside of having smoke-ins and going to jail as a protester, which I'm a little too old to sleep in jail cells anymore, the only thing I can do is sign petitions and vote. I voted for de-criminalization in the last election and it was defeated by a 2 percentage margin, like 49-51. Maybe next time it will pass. Normal needs to start the petitions again so we can get it on the ballot.

I don't think NORML has the money. There is a group, SAFER, I think that is working on it. Information is available, MPP and MAP are two good sources to find out what is happening for your state. That campaign was Krystal's first, her second was my State with the MCCC petition for Medical marijuana. We are waiting on the board of canvessors now. We know we have enough valid signatures to put it on the 2008 ballot.
Both Oregon and California have petitions, with the first step, 'approval as to form', done. Massachusettes has turned in enough sigs to put decriminilization on thier ballot, don't remember if that is the 2008 general election.
I still believe there is a way to accomplish this. VV
