You can get a very good feel for someones character by knowing their political leanings. Liberal and conservative are just words and people can read into them what they like. Conservatism to me is more than a word. It's a philosophy to live by. Self governance. Personnel conduct. It's akin to religion. You believe in god, or you don't. You live by conservative ideals, or you don't.

Based on my understanding of your definition, I am not conservative at all. There are many members of this forum who would disagree with any non-conservative label being applied to JohnnyOrganic.

Stigma is a terrible thing.

The best among us, without question, live a conservative lifestyle, whether they know it/accept it, or not. Excess is human. The difference between conservatives and liberals is this; all of us make mistakes, don't try as hard as we can, don't live up to our own expectations. Conservatives find fault in themselves, ie. "I fucked up" "I should have tried harder" "Next time I'll do it better". Liberals find fault with others, ie. "It wasn't me", "I didn't care about it anyway", "It wasn't even fair." Excuses, made for both ones self and for others, is the hallmark of liberalism. Responsibility, expected of ones self, the hallmark of conservatives.

To say your both liberal and conservative is like saying, I'm ignorant, yet knowledgeable. It doesn't work that way.
