| | Support Your Government Reps! | | Support your government reps! I know this sounds like a joke but I am 100% serious! Rep. Harold Dutton introduced the House Bill 758 in the Texas Legislature. This is the bill that if it passes will lower the class for possession of marijuana under 1 ounce from a class B misdemeanor to a class C misdemeanor meaning no mandated jail time along with other benifits from the lessor crime.
Remember the name Rep. Harold Dutton

You should support this person in every way possible! When he comes up for re-election... VOTE FOR HIM!!! Be a volunteer on his campaign! Keep him in office if he will take a stand against the deceived majority to correct the laws relating to marijuana.
If you are someone who only posts on web sites about how wrong the marijuana laws are then you are almost doing NOTHING to change them. Support and help this person Rep. Harold Dutton and all others that will to take a stand towards possitive change. If you really want to make a difference... well this is one of the best ways. This actually can change the laws!
Peace! |

While I would like to support candidates that support liberalizing laws against cannabis, I sure as hell would consider what else the candidate stood for. I was considered a right-wing wacko on another cannabis board because I supported Bob Barr. Yes, he was against liberalizing cannabis laws, but in all other areas, he was very much pro state's rights. Vi

Vi | yep, a few more years of prohibition is definitely better than a lifetime of socialist slavery. if getting weed legalized is the only cause a person has in life, well, that's kind of sad actually. Rep. Elliott Naishtat recently introduced H.B. 1534, a bill that would protect medical marijuana patients from the threat of jail. H.B. 1534 would establish an "affirmative defense" law for patients. A patient could still be arrested or cited for possession of marijuana but would be acquitted in court with a written or oral statement from a physician.

But don't remember this one for good reasons! I won't be voting for this person! Unfortunately the office of Representative Dianne Delisi, who is the Chair of the Public Health Committee, has been telling people that she won’t allow medical marijuana House Bill 1534 to be heard in her committee.
