Boycott Girl Scout Cookies!

They Support Democrats.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Anti-abortion groups angry over what they see as the Girl Scouts' support for abortion-rights advocates, including Democratic Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, have launched a cookie boycott.
The groups have taken issue with tweets and Facebook postings that link to articles recognizing Davis, who shot to political stardom last year with a filibuster of abortion limits, and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, another Democrat who supports abortion rights.
"It's very clear that they are not citing any pro-life leaders with any praise, even though their official stand is they are not taking any position on abortion," said John Pisciotta, director of Pro-Life Waco and organizer of the so-called CookieCott 2014.
The Girl Scouts do not endorse politicians or take stands on political issues, spokeswoman Kelly Parisi said Tuesday. The posts were meant to encourage people to get involved in discussions about the top newsmakers of 2013, which many people were referring to as the year of women, Parisi said.

They are good for the munchies.

The girls never got much per box. I always bought and ate those that were not paid for.

Boys had carmel pop corn... the girls were way better in that respect.

I like the thin mints and the ones with the coconut. Don't know of any kids selling them now.

Girl scout cookies have been greatly cheapened over the years. They taste like dog shit now, I prefer to cook my own with real gluten in them, I don't cater to the 1%.

The boxs got smaller as did the cookie count per box while the price went up.
Still good snacks in my mind.

I'll have to call up some friends and see if their grandkids are selling them.

Yes as has most of the snacks and foods we buy. It is how some of the marginal inflationary pressure is passed on and hidden.

Yes indeed, I remember riding my bicyle to the corner store and having a sugar rush feast with less than a dollar in change in pocket.

I agree that made at home cookies rock.
I enjoying baking, home made PB's are both easy and fast.
I'm a pie freak myself

Are we under the spell of conspiracy theory now? Shall I let Bucky bring out his magical "Bucky's Big Mac Index"????

You may do so.
I think it is just economics at work.

One thing I LOVE about girl scout cookie season is that it is an indicator that spring is coming.
Won't be long until I tap the maples. That makes for a good sugar rush too.

What is wrong with refusing to financially support something you are morally opposed to?

Or can you simply not fathom why anyone would be morally opposed to premeditated murder of a human fetus?
