The Oil companies run the government, especially with oil men in the white house. I don't think even Obama can do anything because congress is so tainted. The first order of business, well second actually as stopping the insane war should be job one, should be to get rid of lobbiests. Absolutely make it a felony to lobby a governmental employee. Make it a felony for a governmental employee to take any remuneration of any kind from anyone. Then stick by it by prosecuting every case.

| | I took the time to watch the Senate hearings today on C-Span. They had the oil company executives on the hot seat with the Democrats trying to brow beat the hell out of them. What a bunch of hypocritical assholes. Here we have Schumer and his buddies who, over a couple of generations now, have voted down every effort to increase domestic oil production, both exploration and refining, have put the stops on all oil to coal and nuclear technology .. then turning right around and asking why the price of oil is so high. Unbelievable. Unbelievably stupid. Schumer and several other Democrats, pompous asses that they are, kept suggesting that the oil company's profits are "excessive." This is coming from a body (both parties) who have placed our national debt over 58 TRILLION DOLLARS. I was hoping that one of the oil guys would ask: "Well Senator Schumer ... your organization has produced a debt of 58 trillion dollars and our organization has produced a healthy profit. Which is better in your mind, Senator?" Vi

Hey Redd, find a positive in this gas price scenario. | Gas was 19 cents down the road from where I lived durring a gas war in 64 or 65. in mexico in 81 the peso was 43 to a dollar I had just gotten gas and I was very high and I tryed to give this guy 1000 peso note a few times but he kept pointing to a 100 peso note when I looked at the pump and worked out the numbers it came up to 19 cents a gal. the guy was just honest.
I find it a positive that some will not have the money to drink AND drive so they will need to choose, and people will drive less so traffic will be way down, with these things just think of the lives that this will save.
Will not the saving of all these lives make you happy med?
Now tell me that your not happy to pay such a small sum that will end up saving all of these lives. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
