Pretty much, not raising taxes is pretty much the best thing these republicans got goin, if they don't live up to that then they will lose a huge amount of base. As for the Chinese, you know if we were to war all debts are waived..

but seriously, they could do well by cutting welfare and unnecessary social programs and fire the inept and often corrupt officials who govern them.

I guess I should thank you, Zen, it appears that my post was deleted entirely (as were some of yours). I didn't realize that this board belonged to one person and one person only, nor did I realize that I would only be allowed to post what he deems acceptable. If someone doesn't mind helping me out here, I have yet to find where in the user's agreement that it says that I must speak only of certain things in certain places. It probably wouldn't chap my hide if I knew coming in and had agreed, yeah? Also, when my husband and I had our own bulletin board we had some serious disagreements with other moderators over censorship (because, honestly, that's what just happened in the Mr. President thread), and Dave and I are ardent supporters of free speech, whereas others felt that we should limit certain speech.

Onto your assertions Zen; I do not disagree. However, we cannot fire officials, and once they have power they are most usually and often corrupted. What about representatives giving themselves the power to lease vehicles at taxpayer cost with no limits as to what they can use or spend? Pay raises? I want to vote myself a pay raise! The list of grievances I have is long, long indeed, and it knows no party lines whatsoever.

On the censorship issue ... I was a moderator of a political forum on another pot site (now defunct) for many years and I can tell you that political discussions should be kept in the political forum. There are WAY too many hard feelings developed because of these discussions and those who want to participate willingly take that risk by entering the political forum. Posting in the political forum should be censorship free for sure. Any political post/thread made in other forums should be transferred to the political forum as soon as its discovered. This is for peace in the community. Kind of like Las Vegas ... what happens here, stays here.
