It's a dated term. It suggests that someone takes poor care of items that do not belong to them. What would a farmer do to a rented mule refusing to pull the plow? Literally, it represents a severe shellacking.

I respectfully disagree. Socialism is a well established political theory. We may disagree with it's effectiveness, but it is legitimate.

Snakeoilman's poison is in the form of:
