De-accelerate and stop the automobile, and exit safely. Continue and....
You want to stay on the dark side, Med? Continue to be a villian? You can be a non-vulgar villian in service to your cause.

A question for you: Who do you think has a better chance of victory in battle?
The winning patrol leader maintains his composure even in the heat of a firefight. Every tactical situation he enters knowing the enemy could emerge at any time. His men know what to do on enemy contact because they are trained and disiplined. The winner chooses where and when enemy contact is likely to occur and responds according to the operation order. When the engagement is over, and the mission is completed, the patrol returns to its Objective Rally Point (ORP) and then back to friendly lines. There the men are de-briefed and recovery is begun. Weapons are cleaned, the unit is re-supplied, and any needed medical care is administered.
Compare that to the reckless and emotionally charged patrol leader. No fire, light or noise dicsipline. A tactical nightmare. The enemy can easily track troop movements and determine all sorts of intelligence about the patrol: strategy, armament, available resources, morale, strength, unit affiliation, etc. There is no rest for the platoon between engagements. An endless combat patrol with no mission statement.
And now you find yourself losing battle after battle in a war which is a lost cause.
